Introducing Licence Compliance as a Service

Introducing Licence Compliance as a Service

Licence Compliance as a Managed Service
The main objective of our LCaaS is to directly deliver to the client the end result of Software Asset Management (SAM) - the Effective Licence Positions (ELP) - and the advice on responding to each position we created. This means that our LCaaS clients:
Do not require to build SAM capabilities from scratch, so there is no headcount increase or cost of procuring and deploying new tools
Gain access to the first set of fully-audited compliance reports within the first 3 months of service, which allows quick delivery of SAM results
Can focus internal efforts on making business decisions from our reports, rather than on the complexity of creating these reports
Enjoy a fully tailored service where our reporting format, frequency and scope, as well as delivery methods are matched exactly to expectation
Access in-depth vendor licensing expertise at a highly competitive cost, thanks to our efficiency and economies of scale

Build an entitlement inventory with usage right restriction, licensing metrics and compliance obligation information extracted from discovered software agreements, and establish your SAM requirements accordingly.
Validate the design and effectiveness of your current SAM processes and controls, highlight gaps against requirement and the associated risks.
Work with you to design a future operating model based on an improved SAM processes framework. Define RACI between FIAC, yourself and your ISP for each process and assist you in implementing change.
Audit the quality of data required for SAM calculations, such as software inventory or contract records. The capability of tool sets used to generate and maintain such data will also be tested.
Perform in-depth internal audit against priority vendors (monthly, quarterly or annually). Generate and walk through our audit reports with Effective Licence Positions, full audit trail and licence optimisation & risk mitigation advice.
Produce Effective Licence Positions for non-priority software vendors annually using readily-available data on a quarterly (or an annual) basis.
40 hours of on-demand advisory from our licensing specialists to provide contract true-up negotiation support, audit defence and general Q&A.

Service in the 1st Year

We will initiate the service via a Contract Discovery and Analytics exercise which will produce a consolidated Software Entitlement inventory. This will be followed by three internal audit exercises, which will expose gaps in your SAM process, data and tooling, as well as producing the first Compliance Baseline Audit report for priority vendors. We will then discuss these results with you, and agree on a go-forward plan as part of the Consulting exercise by the end of the first quarter.

From Q2 onwards, the Compliance Baseline Audit will be initiated typically 6 weeks prior to each quarter-end. The refreshed compliance report will be presented in a workshop in the last week of every quarter.
Service from the 2nd Year onwards

All Q1 activities in the first year will be re-performed annually in the year’s first quarter.

In addition, a Standard ELP service will be introduced in Q1 from the second year. We will use all available data, including the updated Software Entitlement Inventory data, to produce Effective Licence Positions for all applications from the non-priority vendors.
